‚better late than never’ they say, right?
after a weekend in krabi i’m back in bangkok again and have finally managed to be creative and write down some about the austr(al)ian girls trip to phuket, almost 4 weeks ago – ohhhh how I miss you two!
so, besides me being nostalgic, we had a great time. I mean, the beaches in thailand do not disappoint, that’s for sure. we didn’t stay in a hostel, like we planned to.
a tip on the side: make sure to have a look at the reviews BEFORE booking and believing the pictures probably not even taken in the same building! oh well, we switched and had a great time in a three-bed-hotel-room.
the days consisted of sleeping, eating at the local markets (and restaurants and and), burning in the sun and swimming in the ocean.
also, we went on a two-island tour. to be honest, i’m not the greatest fan of tours in my holidays, but the thai are pretty awesome in organizing one-day-trips! if you want to see as much in as little time as a long weekend, that’s the way to go for sure! so we did and went on a boat tour to „racha island“ and „coral island“.
we needed to go see patong beach and the viewpoint. so beautiful and worth seeing!
when on the beach we started picking up trash, for about an hour and that’s what we got! unfortunately a never ending story. once we began, people also started to pick up one or two things, and gave it to us – they must’ve thought we’re here officially working to clean up the beach!
there were way too many rubber bands, plastic bags, wrappers and bottles – a fish jumped out of one bag i picked up! we collected all that in as little as maybe 25 minutes!

it was quite unsatisfying as i felt like even when we stopped, there would be thousands and thousands of pieces of trash to go, a never ending story. i guess we just need to be aware of that, when we don’t take care of nature!
